What Is PF?
As we know, PF or EPF (Employee Provident Fund) is the saving instrument for those who are in service both in the private as well as government sector. For the private sector, this is the only saving that they can rely on once they retire as they don’t get a pension. In this, the employee contributes a certain amount each month and the same is contributed by the employer. It can be availed when one switches the job or upon retirement. Ideally one should avail it only upon retirement because then you can experience the magic of the eighth wonder of the world, which is the power of compounding.
What Is UAN Number?
UAN number or the Universal Account Number is the unique number that is assigned to all those employees that are enrolled under the EPF scheme. It is allotted by EPFO, which is the Employee Provident Fund Organization. Once assigned, the person needs to have the same number throughout his or her working life.
